                                                        Hybrid Games

It is important to recognize that many games are not limited to one genre. Some types are a mixture of two or more genres. In fact, as the game progresses, we see the blurred lines between genres more often than not. The introduction of 3D games like action / adventure has increased dramatically. It is basically a catch-all category that includes real-time 3D games and battle with puzzle solving in a fairly coherent story. Many of these games are also first-person-shooter. Some are 3D platform titles. Most securities qualify as horror survival and Action / Adventure games too. Another example of a hybrid Myst. It is both an adventure game and a puzzle game.

Video Games Genres Part III

RPG (Role Playing Game)
The RPG genre  is direct descendant of hybrid action-adventure genre. Like the adventure genre, RPG is characterized by a well developed story and high quality, but there are also puzzles and action elements of the genre, such as violence and fighting. What distinguishes him from his descendant  action-adventure hybrid, is an advanced evolution of the character:the character gains experience after battles or  targets, which is then used in the development of certain skills of various types. In an RPG,ther are present the so-called quests, missions received from other characters that have different goals and different ways of solving that result usually with a reward :money, items or experience. It is also important to know that most RPGs are placed in medieval fantasy worlds, but this is not a criterion that characterizes the genre.

Strategy RPG

These games incorporate strategic play as an alternative to traditional play.Like in traditional ones, the player controls a party, fights the enemy but the difference is that there is a strategic tactic  present. Example: Last III: Exodus

Action RPG
Each player controls a character in real time, putting the highlight on action.A common challenge in these RPGs is to include content beyond killing enemies. With the large number of items that must be collected ,sites, locations and samples that are found in this game,it can be difficult to create depth needed to give players a unique experience tailored to the beliefs, choices and actions. .Example: Diablo, The Legend of Zelda, Sacred,: Dragon Slayer series.

Roguelike

It is a 2D dungeon crawl with a high emphasis on developing the disorder and static character .These types of games borrow elements from the game Rogue.

Massively Multiplayer Online RPG (MMORPG)

Video Games Genre Part II

Many of these, such as Donkey Kong have a series of screens , each with its own individual design challenges. As companies have begun to develop  platform games for consoles and home computers instead of arcade machines (eg Super Mario Bros. for the Famicom and Nintendo Entertainment System) ,  the processors and memory capacity development have taken advantage and higher transcending individual screens and actively use the -scrolling worlds. This evolutionary step in the platform games moved closer to captivating stories , rather than challenging puzzles . Platform video games continued to evolve gaming becaming more 3D .

• Maze games
These games have a playing field that is entirely a maze that players must navigate.Example : Pac -Man

Action-Adventure

• Stealth games

A stealth-based game is a video game in which the focus is on the player's ability to sneak unseen  between opponents along the way to bring an object. Avest genre requires attention to detail, sense of observation and patience. Example: Thief 3, Assassin's Creed.

• Survival horror

Many of these titles are intended for a mature audience, because they are not for younger audiences and often include grafic scenes .Example: Haunted House
   Video Games Genres Part One

Video games are very popular especially among young people but many adults over 30 years have gained this passion. Many fans start to play at an early age, small games that are not difficult, then move forward.
This "industry" of video games has evolved a lot and still is.
Today, you have available many types of video games to choose from.
Each category has its own video game fans, depending on individual personality and preferences.
A video game is an electronic game that involves interaction between humans and an interface that generates feedback on a video device. You can play on a PC, console(Xbox,PS).
Video games are categorized by their gender. There is no universally accepted criteria.
The following is a classification of the most common video game genres with a brief description and examples. Many of the games can be found in several categories due to the subjective nature of many genres. For example Legend of Zelda game series has elements of action, adventure and RPG. This becomes increasingly more pronounced because many of the games that are produced nowadays are already designed to be hybrid, combining the features of one or more styles (eg action RPG like Diablo, Vagrant Story, and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance).
The main categories of video games:
Action

• TPS (Third Person Shooter)

The player follows the action from a perspective in which the character of the game is seen from a distance. This view gives the player a wider view of the surroundings, as opposed to the view limited first-person shooter.

• Rail Shooter
It is a sub-genre of first-person shooter, the  navigating through the game environment is not under the player's control explicitly. This type of game limits  interaction between player and tactical objectives of each stage, and progresses from scene to scene by moving the camera specific player positions, along map..Example: House of the Dead

Diablo 3 review

Diablo 3 review

It's an action RPG, so don't expect reams of complicated stats. The raised camera angle gives it an old school feel and the controls are simple, using only the mouse and a few keys.
When your character levels up, and enemies get smarter, that the combat comes into its own.
At first you only have a pool of basic offensive attacks to choose from, but as you gain XP, you get access to a wealth of unique abilities.Y ou attack enemies by clicking. Lots and lots of clicking. Hold the mouse button down while hovering over an enemy and your character will repeatedly attack it until it dies. Powers are assigned to the number keys, and have an MMO-style cooldown. Mixing the two forms the basis of the combat, and it rewards experimentation.

There are five classes. The barbarian is self-explanatory. They use brute force, wading into battle with heavy weapons and strong offensive powers. Witch doctors summon undead minions to do their dirty work, and weaken enemies by cursing them. Wizards, predictably, are experts with magic, and have a variety of ranged and defensive spells at their disposal. Monks engage enemies in hand to hand combat, and are incredibly fast. Finally, demon hunters are a pure ranged class, and use dual crossbows and launch explosives.

The combat feels great. Even though you're only clicking a mouse, there's a great feeling of weight behind your attacks. In later levels, your foes become more intelligent. Some wall your party in, rapidly teleport around the level to confuse you, or knock you back when you approach. Bosses are tough, but only because they have insane amounts of HP. Most can be bested by simply dashing around, avoiding their attacks, and spamming them with ranged magic.
There's a story, but it isn't crucial to the experience. If you've never played a Diablo game before, the mythology can be quite confusing, but it's a fairly simple fantasy tale at its heart.

Voice acting is a mixed bag, but overall the presentation of the game is of an extremely high quality. The music is atmospheric, and the visuals - which have the same stylised textures as World of Warcraft - are richly detailed. There are loads of neat little visual touches, and environments are varied: from sun-bleached deserts and snowy mountains, to rain-soaked fields, and the bowels of Hell itself.
One thing we love is that whenever you replay a quest, it's always different. Levels in the game are randomly generated, which means you never feel like it's a burden having to go through a level you've already done in co-op. Even if you think you've finished the game and seen all there is to see with one class, there are still four more to master. Items and gold can be shared between all of your characters (who are stored online, so you can access them from any computer), which doesn't make sense from a story perspective, but is hugely convenient.

Crafting gives you something to do between bouts of dungeon crawling. The town hub - a safe area where you can store items, get healed, and trade with merchants - has a blacksmith that can break down rare items into materials. You then use these to craft new weapons and armour. The quality of the recipes you have available depends on how much money you've invested in the blacksmith's shop.Blizzard have taken the seemingly tedious act of clicking repeatedly on a goblin, and turned it into one of the most
entertaining RPGs of the year.
